We are heartbroken to share that Regan is no longer with us. A very acute infection damaged her kidneys, leading to a crash and subsequent disfunction. We were able to keep her with us a little longer, but were not willing to sacrifice her quality of life, as much as we'd have liked more time. She was the queen of the house and a fantastic dog, excelling in many venues. She made the Top 20 Basenjis in 2014 and was nationally ranked in the top 10 in lure coursing every year in which she competed. She is the first Basenji bitch to get the Tricks Dog Performer title.

 

Three of her pups - Raven, Turkish, and Gage -  are Field Champions and have also been nationally ranked in lure coursing. Raven is a 6 time Best in Field winner, and Turkish was nationally ranked in Rally obedience and one of the few Elite level Nose Work Basenjis. Gage has been nationally ranked in both straight racing and lure coursing. She is also dam to 3 specialty Best of Winners earners. (Raven, EBC BOW; Gage, WVBC BOW; Phaser BCOSW BOW), and multiple NOHS Group placers.

Regan was a fun, smart, sassy girl and I could not have asked for a better best friend. She produced 2 litters that exceeded my hopes. Hips good, elbows normal, thyroid normal on last test, PRA and Fanconi clear by DNA test

My heart is forever broken, and I miss the best little red dog ever with every fiber of my being.
